Goal

Procedurally extrude, mask, scatter, and instance a city grid — the foundation for Atlas Logos urban scenes.

Steps

  1. 1Start from a subdivided plane or grid mesh in Geometry Nodes.
  2. 2Extrude faces with random height variation using fields or Random Value.
  3. 3Mask extrusion: Compare + Index to affect only selected faces.
  4. 4Distribute Points on Faces for building anchor points.
  5. 5Instance a building mesh from Collection Info on those points.
  6. 6Join terrain, extrusions, and instances; preview the city block in viewport.

Expected Result

A procedural city block with masked extrusions, instanced buildings, and visible rule-driven variation — ready for Atlas Logos export.

Atlas Logos Application

Direct foundation for ancient-city-generation and jerusalem-city-block — procedural districts, instanced facades, and terrain fusion.
